Your data & your rights

Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you use decoderHealth, create an account, or subscribe to decoderPro.

Effective · Android, iOS & this website

The agreement

These terms govern your use of the decoderHealth mobile app for Android and iOS, its account services, decoderPro, and this website. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the team operating decoderHealth. By using these services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using them.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Your app store's terms also apply to downloads, purchases, and billing. For an app obtained from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard end user license agreement applies to the app license.

Core health tracking works locally without an account. Optional account features and decoderPro require online services and may depend on your device, platform, region, and current app version.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use decoderHealth, or meet a higher minimum age required where you live. If you cannot enter a binding agreement independently, a parent or guardian must authorize your use where permitted by law. Purchases also require compliance with your app store's account and payment rules.

Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and use your account for yourself. Do not sell, transfer, or share account access. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

Health information

decoderHealth is a personal health tracking and information tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, medical screening, or emergency care. Charts, fasting information, Buddy suggestions, calculated values, nutrition comparisons, and AI replies are informational and do not replace a qualified clinician's advice.

Calculated values are estimates based on recorded inputs and assumptions. A cited source supports general information and does not establish that it applies to your circumstances. Discuss health decisions, fasting, and changes to diet or activity with a qualified professional, particularly if you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating.

Do not delay professional care because of information in the app. For urgent concerns, contact local emergency services. You remain responsible for decisions you make using the app's information.

Your data

Health Connect or Apple Health supplies connected health records under the permissions you grant. decoderHealth keeps a local copy and may write supported manual entries back to your health store. You are responsible for the accuracy of entries you make and for choosing appropriate permissions.

Charts and summaries depend on the completeness and quality of records supplied by you, other apps, and connected devices. Background refresh is subject to operating system limits. We do not guarantee complete syncing, uninterrupted access, or the accuracy of source records.

Signing in shares account profile metadata and preferences with our backend. An active paid account syncs visible chat history, and AI requests send selected messages and health summaries for processing. These are described in the Privacy Policy.

Keep any exports or backups you need. Removing the app does not remove records already written to your platform health store. Deleting an account removes associated backend records but leaves local device data and does not cancel store billing.

decoderPro subscriptions

decoderPro is an optional subscription purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, with entitlements managed through RevenueCat. The purchase screen shows the current price, currency, billing interval, included features, and any trial or promotional conditions. Store prices and availability may vary by region.

  • Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled under your store's rules. Your store charges the payment method associated with your store account. Cancel before the renewal deadline shown by the store.
  • Cancellation: manage or cancel through your store's subscription settings or the app's subscription management link. Uninstalling the app, signing out, or deleting your decoderHealth account does not cancel billing. Access generally continues through the paid period, subject to store rules.
  • Trials and price changes: a trial may convert to a paid subscription unless canceled in time. Trial eligibility, price changes, notice, and any required agreement are governed by the offer and store rules.
  • Refunds and plan changes: request refunds through the store that processed the purchase. The store's policies and applicable consumer law determine eligibility, timing, and the effect of changing plans.
  • Restoration: use the available restore-purchase flow with the appropriate store and decoderHealth accounts. Separate purchases on different stores can result in separate billing; cancel any unwanted subscription with its store.

AI chat is subject to the allowance for your selected plan and billing period. A completed user message and assistant reply count as one turn; tool processing within that reply does not count as additional turns. Failed requests do not consume a completed turn. Unused turns do not carry over. Chat may pause when the allowance is exhausted until a new period begins.

AI chat

AI replies are generated by third-party models through our gateway. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your situation. Verify information that matters against your records and appropriate professional advice. No particular answer, outcome, or response time is guaranteed.

The app filters common identifiers from messages sent to the model, but that filter cannot remove every personal detail. Original visible messages are stored in synced cloud history for paid accounts. Avoid entering unnecessary identifiers, confidential information, or other people's health information. See the AI chat privacy details.

You authorize us and the service providers described in the Privacy Policy to process your submitted messages and selected health summaries to deliver replies, sync conversations, meter usage, and operate and secure the service. You retain any rights you have in your messages. We do not claim ownership of assistant output, but do not guarantee that output is unique or free of third-party rights.

Chat depends on connectivity, subscription verification, our gateway, and model providers. We may update providers, models, safeguards, or technical limits. Material changes to paid features are subject to applicable notice and consumer protection requirements.

Acceptable use

Use decoderHealth lawfully for personal tracking. Do not:

  • Access another person's account or process information you have no right to use.
  • Bypass authentication, payment checks, usage limits, or safety controls.
  • Forge purchases, tamper with subscription state, or interfere with the app or backend.
  • Automate unauthorized requests, scrape private data, or overload services.
  • Submit unlawful content or use the service to harm, harass, or infringe another person's rights.
  • Copy, resell, modify, or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law or an open-source license allows it.

We may limit access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, or material violations of these terms.

Ownership & license

decoderHealth's software, branding, design, and documentation belong to us or our licensors. Subject to these terms and applicable store rules, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control. Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses.

You retain your rights in health data, notes, Check-Ins, and messages. You grant only the rights needed to process content you provide for the service functions described in these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Third-party trademarks, evidence, and images belong to their respective owners. decoderHealth is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Google.

Third-party services

The app relies on Health Connect, Apple Health, app stores, sign-in providers, Supabase, RevenueCat, Router.com, and model providers. Recipe images and related links may use Unsplash. Third-party services and linked websites have their own terms and privacy policies.

Changes, outages, or restrictions at these services can affect availability. We do not control third-party content or services. Your statutory rights and our obligations under applicable law continue to apply.

Warranties & liability

To the extent permitted by law, decoderHealth is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that all errors will be corrected or that records will always be complete or recoverable.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including loss of data or reliance on informational output. Our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for decoderPro in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing.

These limitations do not exclude or restrict liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable liability for fraud, negligence causing death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights. Where local law prohibits a limitation or requires a remedy, that law prevails.

Suspension & termination

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from the Account screen. Cancel any recurring subscription separately with your store. The Privacy Policy describes which local, backend, and provider records are affected by deletion.

We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, security reasons, legal requirements, or discontinuation of a service. Where appropriate and required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. If a paid service is discontinued, applicable store refund rules and consumer remedies remain available.

Terms relating to ownership, payment obligations already incurred, liability, and disputes continue to apply after use ends to the extent necessary to give them effect.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the app and services change. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide notice of material changes and seek agreement where required by law. Continued use after revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Applicable law & disputes

Applicable law determines the law and courts governing a dispute. These terms do not limit mandatory protections under the laws of your place of residence or any right to bring a claim in a court available to you under those laws. Contact us to try to resolve an issue before beginning proceedings.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive it. These terms and any applicable app store license govern your use of the service, subject to rights that cannot be waived by agreement.
